If I purchase an HD Radio, will I be able to pick up digital television broadcasts on it?

Before television went digital you could hear regular(non cable) TV stations on a radio. My question is, now that Television has gone digital, if you purchase an HD radio can you still pick up the broadcasts of TV stations?

Can I listen to European Radio stations (eg RTE) in the US?

Besides the internet, are there other ways to listen to RTE Radio in the US?
Shortwave, longwave, digital, it's all very confusing. I just want to lie in bed and listen to RTE Radio without it costing me an arm and a leg. Any help? thanks.
Oh and RTE has only 2 hrs per day on satellite, which is not worth paying for.

Where can I get a small portable radio with a digital frequency?

Mostly I want AM to listen to talk radio. I want a digital frequency so I can preset the stations. I want to listen to it in bed so it has to be small enough to hold in my hand, and
lastly it has to be battery operated. Walmart doesn't have anything like it.

Digital switchover portable tv/radio walkman: won’t Sony add Digital TV signal to its radio?

Why will it be too expensive to add digital tv sound? Won't the cost drop with volume when DTV receivers are distributed? Wouldn't Sony want to offer it on its portable radio?
